## What happened

Bink, the trading name of Loyalty Angels Ltd, built an app that linked a consumer's existing payment card to retailers' loyalty schemes so that shoppers earned rewards without carrying separate cards. Based in Berkshire, it counted Iceland, Harvey Nichols and Wasabi among its retail partners and raised a £10M Series A led by Barclays in 2019, followed by a minority investment from Lloyds Banking Group in 2022\. The business lost £11.8M in the year to August 2022 and in March 2023 raised a further £9M, mostly from existing investors, which it said would fund operations only until early 2024\. When a fresh raise failed, the company ceased trading and passed an extraordinary resolution to wind up on 29 May 2024, with FRP Advisory appointed joint liquidators and all 46 staff made redundant. The company was dissolved in October 2025.

## Why

- Could not raise the next round

## What happened to the assets, customers and team

The company ceased trading before the liquidators were appointed and all 46 employees were made redundant. FRP Advisory conducted an orderly wind-down; the final creditors' meeting return was filed in July 2025 and Loyalty Angels Ltd was dissolved on 24 October 2025.

## In their words

> The Joint Liquidators will now progress with an orderly wind down of the business

## Lessons

Bank backing did not translate into a self-sustaining business: Bink carried heavy annual losses for years and its 2023 bridge round bought only about twelve months of runway. Once existing investors declined to fund again, there was no buyer and the company went straight to liquidation rather than administration.
