Wakelet Limited was incorporated in January 2011 and the product launched publicly around 2014, going on to be widely used in education. Early funding included about £1m from UK and US investors. By 2023 shareholders' funds had fallen to roughly £2.0m from £4.9m a year earlier, and the company struggled to raise fresh investment. Its three directors resigned on 10 April 2025, the day Mike Dillon and Hilary Pascoe of Leonard Curtis were appointed joint administrators by the High Court in Manchester. The business and assets were sold the same day to Reviven Limited, a connected company whose sole director is Khalil, and all 23 employees transferred.
