Innovate UK is the national innovation agency, part of UK Research and Innovation, and is based in Swindon. It funds businesses through competitive grant programmes, innovation loans, Knowledge Transfer Partnerships and sector-specific competitions, with a stated emphasis on deep technology in the UK's priority sectors. Awards are non-dilutive and usually tied to a defined project, so the agency does not take equity. Directory startups that have received Innovate UK support include Alterist, BioBright, Furbnow, LinkGevity, Papcup, Ponda, Prospectral, SECQAI, Sentai, Tribes Capital, Your Cue and ZORB Security, across competitions such as Women in Innovation, the Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition and Cyber-ASAP.
