ODBA is a London-based early-stage investor with a second address in Delaware. Its partners describe themselves as founders and say they back people rather than products, investing wherever they find strong entrepreneurs.

The firm writes pre-seed and seed cheques and pairs capital with mentoring and introductions from a group of global advisers. Many of its portfolio companies are built by African and diaspora founders or serve African markets. Examples include Treepz, a shared mobility platform in Africa; Zazuu, a remittance aggregator; Fleri, which helps immigrants pay for care for relatives overseas; Black Rise, a hub for Black professionals; and EdgeMode, an engineering infrastructure company.
