Playfair Capital is a London venture capital firm that invests exclusively at pre-seed in the UK and Europe, currently from its £57m third fund. It makes around six new investments a year and reserves about 60% of the fund for follow-on, with capacity to put up to £5m into a single company.

Cheques range from £100k in angel rounds to £1.5m for larger pre-seed rounds, and the firm always co-invests with other funds or angels. Playfair has been investing since 2013 and reports that its founders have raised more than $3bn in follow-on funding, with a 78% pre-seed to Series A graduation rate.
