The Players Fund is a UK venture firm set up in 2023 and led by professional athletes, with backers including Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Stuart Broad and Chris Smalling. It draws on a network of more than 850 elite sportspeople to help portfolio companies with introductions, marketing and sales.

The fund invests from pre-seed to Series A, usually writing initial cheques of £50,000 to £300,000 and co-investing alongside established venture firms rather than leading rounds. Target sectors are B2B software, marketplaces, SaaS, healthtech, fintech, AI and media, mainly in the UK and Europe. It states that it does not back early-stage sports technology.
