Sovereign AI is the UK government's £500M venture fund for scaling British AI companies, run under the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology's AI Opportunities Action Plan and launched in 2026\. It writes equity cheques of £1M to £10M from pre-seed through to growth, and pairs capital with up to one million GPU hours of sovereign compute, fast-tracked visas and access to grants, datasets and contracts. Priority areas are compute and infrastructure, foundation models, AI in health and life sciences, scientific discovery, and trust and safety. Its portfolio includes Isomorphic Labs and CuspAI, both listed in this directory, alongside Callosum, Basecamp Research and others.
