Unruly Capital is a thesis-driven pre-seed and seed fund started in 2022 by solo general partner Stefano Bernardi. It backs ideas it regards as unusual before they become mainstream, across biotech, energy, advanced manufacturing, climate and materials, with past bets including wireless energy, robotic pills and psychedelics.

Its thesis rests on the rise of new forms of governance, demographic decline in the West, decentralised supply chains and biology as a technology platform. Fund I made more than 70 investments, and Fund II is about $30m with average cheques of roughly $700,000\. The fund invests in the UK, US and elsewhere; directories place its base in Trento, Italy.
