Iris is an AI conversational companion that users reach through ordinary text messaging rather than a dedicated app. It describes itself as a thought partner and runs on iMessage and RCS, so people can message it from their phone's built-in messaging service at any hour of the day.

The service is positioned around mental wellness and emotional support. Its stated aim is to help users talk things through, reflect and grow. Sign-up appears to involve simply starting a text conversation, subject to the company's terms and privacy policy. The website says more than 50,000 people have texted Iris. The company was founded in 2025 and is listed as based in Liverpool.
