Kraken Technologies builds the customer, billing and energy-operations platform that grew inside Octopus Energy Group and is now being demerged as an independent company. Utilities and energy retailers licence Kraken to run accounts, billing, smart-meter data and flexible-energy assets such as EV chargers, heat pumps and batteries. The company reports more than 70 million customer accounts on the platform, over 15 billion data points processed daily and contracted annual revenue above $500m. In December 2025 it raised about $1bn led by D1 Capital Partners at an $8.65bn valuation, with Octopus retaining a minority stake. Kraken is headquartered in London and New York, with regional centres in Paris, Tokyo and Melbourne, and is led by chief executive Amir Orad.
