Ownmates is a London-founded social networking platform built around cross-border connection. Users can chat, make HD video calls, join communities and blogs, and send payments, with incoming messages translated in real time into their own language. A premium subscription unlocks additional features such as instant translation. The company says it was founded in London in 2022 and had passed 30,000 users across around 150 countries by 2024\. The service positions itself as a tool for making friends, finding business contacts and building communities across language barriers.
