Allegro Capital is a London venture capital and advisory firm set up in 2011 by Tom Montgomery, who previously ran corporate venturing programmes at Adidas and De Beers. It invests mainly at pre-seed and seed stage and, as it does not run a conventional fixed-life fund, can take a longer-term view of its holdings.
The firm leans towards consumer-facing businesses in areas such as e-commerce, fashion and luxury, fintech and proptech, and has backed more than 70 companies. For later rounds it helps companies with commercial traction assemble investor syndicates, drawing on its network of advisers and angel investors.
