Archipelago Ventures, formerly known as Archipelago Eco Investors, invests in early-stage technology companies that improve material circularity. It looks for IP-rich, scalable approaches across materials and production, circular systems, and recovery and transformation, with plastics, metals and fibres as target materials.
The firm earlier ran the Future of Plastics Fund and a Circular Plastics Accelerator backed by WRAP, and now manages the Archipelago Circular Economy Fund, launched in 2024 with Builders Vision as anchor investor. Portfolio companies include DESCycle, A&B Smart Materials, Nova Biochem and Matoha. It is an appointed representative of FCA-regulated J8 Capital Management.
