ARKN Ventures describes itself as an applied venture capital firm: as well as investing, its team works directly with portfolio companies on their most pressing operational challenges to help them scale. It backs early-stage projects in emerging technologies, chiefly blockchain and Web3 infrastructure and applications alongside artificial intelligence, with a particular interest in tools that improve coordination and decentralised governance. The firm was set up in 2021 by two Oxford graduates with backgrounds in law, the public sector and derivatives trading, and draws on a wider network spanning academia, government and deep technology.
