Black Seed is a Brixton-based seed fund set up in 2021 by Karl Lokko, Cyril Lutterodt and Yvonne Nagawa to address the funding gap for Black entrepreneurs in the UK. It is sector-agnostic, backing British tech and tech-enabled businesses where at least one co-founder identifies as Black, and writes cheques of roughly £100k to £400k.

Its LPs include M&G Catalyst as anchor, alongside Atomico, LocalGlobe, Molten Ventures and WestRiver Group. Beyond capital, it runs a founder community with mentoring, pro-bono support, workshops and grant programmes delivered with corporate partners.
