Deep Science Ventures is a venture creator that builds science-based companies from the outset rather than investing in existing start-ups. It combines published scientific knowledge with scientist-founders, using a structured methodology to define a problem, design a venture and assemble a founding team.
Its work spans agriculture, computation, climate, pharma and education. The firm partners with investors, corporates and other organisations to fund and launch the companies it creates, and it provides pre-seed capital and support in the earliest stages. A recent example is Big Picture Bio, set up to design cancer combination therapies.
