The Female Innovators Lab Fund is a venture fund and studio run by Anthemis, the fintech-focused investment firm, to back women entrepreneurs building financial services businesses. Anchored by Barclays, with further backing from Aviva, Visa and BMO, it is reported at $50m.
The fund aims to be a company's first institutional investor, making upfront investments with follow-on capital available, and draws on Anthemis's embedded finance thesis. It considers founders in the UK, Europe, the US and Canada, and enquiries are accepted on a rolling basis rather than through cohorts. Anthemis and Barclays have offices in London and New York.
