Founders at the University of Cambridge is a strategic initiative of Cambridge Enterprise, the university's commercialisation arm, set up in 2023 to help more Cambridge researchers, students and alumni start and grow companies. It runs multi-stage venture-building programmes, including START and SYNC, and gives founders access to seed capital, mentoring and a network of experts, partners and investors. Its aim is to take early ideas to investment-ready companies, and much of its pipeline is science-based and deep tech, spanning areas such as AI, biotechnology, energy storage and sustainable fuels.
