Mercuri is a London venture firm, founded in 2017 by former Guardian Media Group investment chief Alan Hudson, that leads pre-seed and seed rounds. It backs founders working where media, entertainment and AI meet, including generative and voice AI, creator platforms, gaming, XR, advertising technology and AI compute.
Its first fund of £42m was anchored by The Scott Trust, and a second £50m fund closed in 2023 with the British Business Bank's Enterprise Capital Funds programme as cornerstone investor. The firm has made more than 60 investments, including Hugging Face, Faculty and Signal AI, and often takes a board seat after investing.
