Spex Capital is an investment management firm, registered in England and Wales and regulated by the FCA, that backs early-stage technology companies and helps them commercialise and scale internationally. Its first vehicle, the Spex Venture Health-Tech Fund, targets €100 million to invest in digital healthcare and med-tech start-ups, aiming to help them through the so-called valley of death and to follow on in the strongest performers. The firm was started by serial entrepreneur Claudio D'Angelo and draws on a network of healthcare associations, academic partners and innovation networks, and it reports against impact metrics aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
