Entropyst is a Glasgow-based clean-energy technology company founded in 2025. It is developing HyWand, an electrified Power-to-X reactor that breaks down hydrocarbons such as methane, biomethane and LPG, as well as ammonia, into hydrogen and solid carbon without combustion or direct CO2 emissions. The process also yields graphitic and carbon-nanotube-rich materials that can be sold. The modular design is meant to scale from kilowatts to megawatts, with uses including flare gas from oil and gas producers. The company is based at the University of Strathclyde's Inspire Hub.
