Karri makes a screen-free voice messenger for children aged roughly four to twelve, offered as an alternative to a first smartphone. Kids send voice messages using simple physical buttons, while built-in GPS lets parents see where they are; contacts and settings are managed from a parent smartphone app, and the device runs on a subscription plan. The idea came in 2020 from founder Pete Clifford's search for a child-friendly phone alternative for his son. Karri.io Ltd was incorporated in London in 2021, and the product now sells in the UK and several European countries.
