Petiole develops Petiole Pro, a set of AI tools that turn smartphone and image data into plant measurements for growers, agronomists and researchers. Uses include leaf area, chlorophyll and nitrogen estimation, germination and root nodule counts, seed quality checks and fruit yield prediction, replacing dedicated lab meters and manual methods. The team started the project in Ukraine to measure leaf area for ecologists and later established Petiole Ltd in the UK, where it has delivered Innovate UK-funded projects. The product has been piloted in markets including Canada, Kenya, Colombia and Germany, and a free version is available alongside paid tiers.
