Ponda produces BioPuff, a plant-based insulation for clothing and other products made from fibres of Typha latifolia, or bulrush. The crop is grown through paludiculture on rewetted peatlands and wetlands, so the supply chain supports carbon storage, biodiversity and flood resilience while giving farmers an income from otherwise marginal land. BioPuff is traceable from plant to garment and offered as an alternative to feather and synthetic fillings; the company has worked with brands including Stella McCartney and Berghaus. Ponda trades from Bristol and was founded by four graduates of Imperial College London and the Royal College of Art.
