Prospectral is a University of Cambridge spin-out developing compact, materials-aware imaging sensors for computer vision. Its technology captures far more spectral information than a standard RGB camera, allowing systems to identify materials and detect substances using smaller, cheaper hardware than conventional spectral imaging. Target uses include industrial monitoring, healthcare and autonomous vehicles. The company was founded by four researchers in optical physics and semiconductor engineering and raised a pre-seed round in 2024 from investors including Creator Fund, Unruly Capital and Cambridge Enterprise Ventures.
