TORTUS makes ambient voice technology for clinicians. It captures and transcribes consultations, then drafts structured notes, letters and referrals and suggests clinical codes, which the clinician approves before they are filed into the electronic health record. The product integrates with most NHS record systems and telephony platforms and has been used across GP practices, hospitals and ambulance services. TORTUS was started at Entrepreneur First in 2022 by NHS doctors and engineers, co-ran a large NHS ambient voice evaluation with Great Ormond Street Hospital, and reports UKCA Class IIa certification. The team is based in Holborn, London.
