9fin is a London fintech founded in 2016 by former J.P. Morgan banker Steven Hunter and former Deutsche Bank engineer Huss El-Sheikh. Its platform combines structured data, documents, news and AI-driven analytics covering leveraged loans, high-yield bonds, private credit and distressed debt, serving banks, asset managers, law firms and advisers. In March 2026 the company raised a $170m Series C led by HarbourVest with participation from CPP Investments, Highland Europe, Spark Capital, Redalpine and Seedcamp, valuing it at $1.3bn and making it a unicorn; total funding since inception now exceeds $250m. The capital is earmarked for deeper AI in client workflows, a larger credit dataset and US growth.
