What happened

Lanistar Limited was incorporated in July 2019 by Gurhan Kiziloz and marketed a 'polymorphic' payment card and app through a heavy influencer campaign before it had a product or regulatory permissions. The FCA issued a public warning in late 2020, which was later withdrawn, and the company struggled to launch in the UK, eventually offering services only in Brazil. It reported a £4.1M loss for its latest filed year. In September 2024 its Hammersmith landlord, 361 Hammersmith Ltd, petitioned to wind the company up over unpaid rent and chief executive Jeremy Baber left the board. After a further petition filed on 17 February 2025, the High Court made a winding-up order on 2 April 2025 and the Official Receiver became liquidator. Companies House shows the company in liquidation.
