What happened
Silverbird Global Limited was founded in London in 2020 by Max Faldin, previously the co-founder of Russian e-commerce marketplace Wikimart, to give small exporters and importers multi-currency accounts and cross-border payments that high-street banks refused them. It operated as an electronic-money agent of The Currency Cloud Limited and was FCA-authorised for payment services, holding client money in safeguarded e-wallets. On 11 March 2024 the company agreed a voluntary undertaking with the FCA restricting its activities, and on 13 March 2024 Daniel Conway and Geoffrey Rowley of FRP Advisory were appointed joint special administrators under the payment-institution special administration regime. Customers lost access to their accounts while funds were reconciled and identity checks repeated. The administration moved to dissolution in March 2026 and the company was struck off on 18 June 2026.
What happened to the assets, customers and team
FRP Advisory ran a special administration from 13 March 2024; safeguarded customer funds sat with Currency Cloud and were returned through the reconciliation process. Notice of move from administration to dissolution was filed on 18 March 2026 and the company was dissolved on 18 June 2026.
