SoftBank Vision Fund 2 is the second of SoftBank Group's technology growth funds, managed by SB Investment Advisers (UK) Limited from London's Mayfair. Launched in 2019 and later upsized to around $30 billion, it is funded by SoftBank itself and invests large growth cheques in companies it sees as driving the transition to an AI economy, spanning semiconductors and compute, data infrastructure and consumer and enterprise applications. In the UK, SoftBank's Vision Funds have led CMR Surgical's Series D in 2021, Gousto's 2022 growth round and OakNorth's $390 million round in 2019, typically as the lead investor at late stage.
