Y Combinator is a San Francisco-based accelerator that runs four three-month batches a year, in winter, spring, summer and autumn. Each company receives $500,000 on standard terms: $125,000 for 7% on a post-money SAFE plus $375,000 on an uncapped SAFE with a most-favoured-nation clause. Founders get partner office hours, an alumni network and a Demo Day in front of investors. The programme is sector-agnostic and accepts companies from anywhere, including a steady flow from the UK. Directory startups that went through YC include Encord, LemFi, Prolific and Kaya (S21 batch), several of which later raised Series A and B rounds.
