CPI is a UK deep tech innovation organisation based at the Wilton Centre in Redcar, Teesside, that helps companies develop, prove and scale new products and manufacturing processes in health, sustainability and advanced manufacturing. Alongside its facilities and technical services, its ventures arm, CPI Enterprises, makes direct investments in early-stage, high-growth companies at the pre-seed and seed stages where the business fits CPI's capabilities, and it co-invests with deep tech and life science funds. Its first investment was in Qualus, a cleantech firm cutting water and chemical use in leather production, as part of a GBP 1m seed round in 2021, and it later participated in the 2023 pre-Series A round of metals recycling start-up DEScycle.
