Nyobolt is a Cambridge University spin-out developing high-power battery cells and integrated energy systems that can charge in minutes and withstand many thousands of cycles, based on niobium tungsten oxide anode chemistry. Co-founded by chief executive Sai Shivareddy and chief scientist Professor Dame Clare Grey, the company targets warehouse robotics, AI data-centre power, commercial and passenger electric vehicles and heavy industrial fleets. After warning of tight cash in early 2025 and raising £23m that year, it closed a Series C in May 2026 led by Symbotic, whose warehouse robots already use its batteries, with IQ Capital, Latitude, Scania Invest and CBMM participating, at a valuation of around $1bn.
