DEScycle is building distributed metals processing infrastructure that recovers critical and precious metals from domestic waste streams such as electronic scrap. Its proprietary ionometallurgy process is designed to run in modular, low-energy plants located close to where waste arises, offering an alternative to large centralised smelters and giving manufacturers and data centres traceable metal supply. The company has opened a demonstration plant on Teesside and works with recyclers and IT asset disposal firms. It has secured more than €10m in non-dilutive funding from programmes including EU Horizon, the EIC Accelerator and Innovate UK.
