Founded in 2011 by Daniel Klein, Marc-Alexander Christ and Stefan Jeschonnek and headquartered in London, it says more than four million businesses across Europe, the Americas and beyond use its tools to take payments and run their operations. The company has grown through acquisitions, including Fivestars in the US and Tiller in France, and has raised roughly $4bn in equity and debt from investors including Bain Capital Tech Opportunities, Goldman Sachs, Temasek and BlackRock, with its most recent reported financing a credit facility in May 2025.
