What happened
Streetbees ran a market-research platform that paid a global crowd of smartphone users to record moments of their everyday lives in video, photos and text, which the company then analysed with machine learning for consumer-goods, food and drink and financial-services clients. Founded in London by Tugce Bulut and Oliver May, it raised a $12M Series A led by Atomico in 2018 and a $40M Series B led by Lakestar in October 2020, reportedly at a $200M valuation. Headcount peaked at over 300 in 2021 and had fallen to around 139 by mid-2025. In August 2025 the company filed notice of intention to appoint administrators and ran a process to find investment or a buyer; when no transaction could be concluded, Anthony Simmons and David Hudson of FRP Advisory were appointed administrators on 26 August 2025 and all 26 remaining staff were made redundant. The company blamed legacy challenges compounded by market conditions. Its technology assets were sold in November 2025.

What happened to the assets, customers and team
FRP Advisory were appointed administrators on 26 August 2025 and all 26 staff were made redundant. The company's website states that its technology assets were acquired in November 2025 by an undisclosed buyer and are being redeployed by a US-based team. The administration was extended in August 2026 and remains open.

legacy challenges of the business, compounded by current market conditions
Lessons
A 2020 growth round at a reported $200M valuation funded a 300-plus headcount that revenue did not sustain; by 2025 the business was half the size and still dependent on new capital. With the founders gone and the venture market closed to a down-round, neither new investment nor a going-concern sale could be agreed before cash ran out.
